Why Do International Organizations Need This Training?
From grassroots NGOs in developing countries to the world’s largest multilateral organizations, there is one essential ingredient to success – strong communication between people. Small NGO’s need the tools to organize themselves, rally support for social, economic and political change, and create a collective vision. Large peacekeeping and development organizations need these same skills. Tools for communication, negotiation, team building and conflict resolution are essential to the complex process of globalization. As the world becomes smaller, our need to understand each other grows.
Whether it is a small village in Kenya or the staff of a UN agency, Elisa Levy’s seminars are designed to build community commitment to change and create a unified vision. Levy works with your organization prior to designing a training to understand your goals, priorities and problems. She then designs a seminar that is tailored specifically to those needs. After the training she follows up with key stakeholders to ensure that these tools are put into practice.

Why Choose Elisa Levy for Your Training?
The field of international development is laden with competing theories. Large multilateral organization are sometimes accused of using jargon that doesn’t meet the practical needs of people on the front lines of social, economic and political change. Organizations need a trainer who understands both the theory and practical needs of international groups and organizations.
Levy has hand on experience with international development at the micro and macro levels. She started her career working with NGOs in the U.S., Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union. As a Peace Corps volunteer, Levy facilitated leadership training for grassroots organizations in Eastern Europe. Her training programs have been replicated in 13 countries around the world. Levy’s work with the United Nations at their headquarters in New York for more than 6 years gave her the opportunity to train UNDP and UNHCR staff members.
Levy brings academic as well as practical knowledge to her seminars. Since 1996, she has been published in several international publications, and in 2000 she co-authored a book on grassroots organizations’ efforts to stop violence against women and girls in 7 countries around the world. The book, published by UNIFEM, was distributed to almost 200 NGOs. In 2002 Levy published a paper for the World Conference on Religion and Peace. The paper focused on religious grassroots efforts to bring peace to war-torn countries in Africa and Eastern Europe. To find the link to these publications click here
