Why do Non-Profit Organizations Need This Training?
Like most of the public sector, your organization probably has a tight budget. Training may be required for your staff, but it often ends up being the same boring thing, year after year. The kind of training that can really make a difference must seem like a luxury you can’t afford. But the truth is that it’s not a luxury; it’s a necessity. And you can afford it. Even if you had the funds to hire more people, buy new office supplies and upgrade your computer system, you’d still have to deal with the biggest problem of all – people. Start with communication and the rest will follow.
Elisa Levy’s trainings are affordable, action orientated and designed to meet your specific needs. Levy uses a needs assessment to identify the glitches and personality differences that get in the way of smooth communication. She spends time talking with you to get a clear understanding of your concerns and priorities; and she uses the information to design a workbook and training that will help improve communication, teamwork and leadership. After each training Levy follows up with your organization for 3 months to help you put the skills you’ve learned into practice. We all know that change doesn’t happen over night; it’s a process. Levy helps you through the entire process one step at a time.

Elisa Levy has spent a good portion of her career working for non-profit organizations. As a Peace Corps volunteer she learned the basics of powerful leadership and community building. Her work in the public sector runs the gamut from grassroots shelters for women and children to the United Nations headquarters in New York. She has a clear understanding of the struggles non profit organizations face and she knows how to help you maximize your potential.
Levy has both a practical and academic understanding of the public sector. In the year 2000 she co-authored a book on grassroots organizations’ efforts to stop violence against women and girls in 7 countries around the world. The book, published by the United Nations, is used as a guide by non-profit organizations around the world looking to join the global movement to end gender-based violence. In 2002, Levy published a paper for the World Conference on Religion and Peace on religious grassroots efforts to bring peace to war-torn countries in Africa and Eastern Europe.
